From styling to design At the basis of this commitment is an international design team that works out the guidelines for every step of the production process for both drums and hardware. One crucial decision of the design team during the development of the Designer Series was: Give the drummer the highest possible flexibility to decide how his drum set is designed. This concerns all aspects such as choice of material, drum shell dimensions and fittings, finish and hardware. Form follows funktion "CLTF" Cross Laminated Tension Free Shell Compression System All Designer Series drums are available in a wide choice of unique wood and lacquer finishes. The shells are made of select birch or maple and cross-laminated in Sonor's unique precision forming presses. This ensure a tension-free construction of each shell. Even if cut in half, a Sonor shell will keep its shape. Tension-free construction allows for a higher sound projection than other procedures. |
